I have lived in Palatine and District 1 for over 30 years. Prior to that I had a business in Palatine.


Married with three adult children who also live and work in the area.


Graduated from NIU with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Business Administration


Programmed accounting systems for Motorola and left to be a consultant for KPMG. After KPMG I formed my own consulting firm providing accounting and financial software development services to Fortune 500 companies as well as local small businesses. I then expanded the business into PC hardware distribution and acquired an award-winning technology company in San Jose, California.  


Have had a real estate license 


Besides being a CEO of my own companies, I was also the President of the US Division of an international publicly traded technology company.


Have served 8 years on the District 15 School Board with 3 years as President.


Member of a local charitable organization


Volunteer for community events such as Streetfest, Greekfest, and Octoberfest


Former PTA Member, Youth soccer, basketball, baseball and football coach


Represent Palatine on the O'Hare Noice Compatibility Commision's technical committee.


 Was a board member for a local environmental not-for-profit




My additional professional experiences include residential and commercial construction, so I am proficient in reading blueprints and engineering plans that we review and approve frequently.


I understand payroll, liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, liability insurance, labor agreements. fund based accounting, and government finance.


Strong supporter of our first responders.


I am a long-term planner that believes in stability which is ideal for government since it will be around long after I am gone.



When I served on the District 15 School Board

Helped turn around $12 million deficit without a referendum

Initiated the televising of board meetings for local access TV

Instrumental in improving transparency by proposing financial documents including contracts be published on the district web site

Created New Bidding Policy stronger than the State of Illinois School Code

Supported publishing our board meeting packet on the District web site

Saved the district $300,000 to $600,000 per year by requesting Workman's Compensation Insurance be bid out.

Encouraged intergovernmental cooperation with other local taxing bodies including the park district, villages, and other districts.
